Security CameraPier 96 in San Francisco is home to Shredding & Destruction Services' enclosed secure document destruction facility. There our customer's documents are confidentially destroyed within 24 hour of collection.

Our Facility

  • All non-employees entering the document destruction area must sign a log with time-in and time-out. In addition, NO access to the area is allowed unless escorted by a Shredding & Destruction Services employee.
  • There is a secure area within the operation that is devoted to the process of destroying all materials.
  • Materials are always attended by a company employee or physically secured from unauthorized access while awaiting destruction.
  • There is also a motion activated closed-circuit internal video system from multiple angles monitoring the destruction facility and employee activity 24 hours a day.
  • Our destruction area is equipped with a dedicated, monitored alarm system.
  • Paper is destroyed to particle size that is smaller than the National Association for Information Destruction standard of 5/8ths of an inch. Shredded paper is then commingled with similar grade recycled paper and immediately baled and loaded into containers for recycling shipment.
  • The National Association for Information Destruction standard operating practice dictates that all media is destroyed within 72 hours of acceptance. Shredding & Destruction Services destroys material the same day of acceptance or the following day if delivered to our facility late in the day.

Our Employees

  • Must sign a confidentiality agreement.
  • Must meet state licensing requirements.
  • Drivers and other service and processing employees wear company uniforms and photo ID badges to aid in verifying their identity.

Our Vehicles and Containers

  • All materials are contained during removal from customer to transportation vehicle to prevent loss from wind or inclement weather.
  • All vehicles have applicable government inspections, registration, and insurance.
  • All vehicles have lockable secure cabs and lockable secure cargo compartments.
  • Cabinet contents are transferred to a locked cart.

Peace of Mind

  • We offer certificates of destruction and also have a program in place that allows you to personally witness the destruction process.
